Baby Powder and Chickens

So... who knows what you do when:

#1 you wake up late
#2 you have that kind of hair that is fine and greasy has to be washed every day
#3 you have to be at work on time because you may have been late a time or six already
#4 you can't throw a hat on for casual Friday b/c you have to go strait from work to a rehearsal for a wedding you're singing in tomorrow....

Huh? Any guesses?

You throw baby powder all over the roots of your hair, brush violently to fluff, tease, throw a headband on kiss your husband and puppy goodbye and run out the door :)

You're welcome.

Chickens:

8:55 am: Phone rings

Me: Hey babe

D: Hey -- Another one of our chickens got killed on the road

Me: Oh, no! What in the world?! Don't those stupid people see that it's 35 mph?!

D: Apparently not.

Me: Well, is it in tact enough to cook it up and eat?

{um, pick your jaw up off the floor... more about eating our chickens later :-}

D: No. It's a total waste.

Me: {angry} We've had more chickens killed on the road than anywhere else!

D: {asked as serious as if he were asking about my day} Huh. Do you think that's why they have that joke "Why'd the chicken cross the road?"

Me: {silence, trying to comprehend if he was joking}

D: Anna?

I've always wondered if baby powder really works but have never been brave enough to try. Sounds messy to me!

I tagged you over on my blog. I've been enjoying all your new features so I thought I'd send a little traffic your way!

Now I NEED to know the story of the chickens and eating them! I grew up in a totally normal neighborhood in the suburbs of Phoenix and my dad we raised chickens in our backyard. My dad made a chicken coop and everything. We had to give any roosters we raised to a local farm (the cockadoodle dooing wasn't tolerated) but kept our hens and ate their eggs. Random, I know.
