help. me.

****************** UPDATED 4/17/09: Elly's poop is officially back to normal {I know you've been waiting to here just that ;0} but she is still a little sluggish -- If I had the money, I'd be taking Elly to the vet at her every odd move and I think it's smart if there's something really wrong... So, postponing a vet visit, I took Erin's, over at According to Erin, advice and took Elly completely off food, but gave her tons of water and then last night gave her rice with little bits of chicken -- This morning her poop was back to normal -- THANKS A MILLION for all your sweet thoughts and great advice about wet wash cloths and frozen pops... good stuff :)

It seems I have a 5 m/o teething puppy on my hands and she has symptoms of diarrhea, lethargy and all around depression {poor thing} -- Her mommy and daddy have done everything from letting her sleep in the bed to giving her teething bones and it's just not cheering her up :(

I. need. your. help.

poor baby... is the diarrhea from the teething or is there some underlying cause???

Sorry about your baby. You need to take your doggies poop in to the vet and have her checked for giardia. We thought monkey was teething too, but it was actually a worm. yuckie.

I would def take her to the vet just for a check up! You never know with puppies what it could be! I'm sorry sweetie!

You might want to get her checked out...our dog got very lethargic and had diareahea and almost died because of a bacteria, Giardia...I would take your cute puppy in!

Yes, what Prep-E Girl said. Our dog had this and he was not himself.

I don't have any good advice because our pooch was done teething when we rescued her. However, your pup is adorable!

Ooh, poor puppy. All I remember about our dog teething was finding random puppy teeth all over the house and her bloody mouth. Wrap her up in a blankie and cuddle her. That definitely can't hurt!

I second? third? fourth? the suggestion to take some puppy poo to the vet. My little guy had worms at his first 3 vet visits. For the teething, give her a cold wet washcloth to chew on. Walker LOVED this. He still steals them trying to get me to wet them.

Lola is 4mo. and we are going through the exact same thing. If you hear any good solutions, let me know!

Oh I remember the days of a teething puppy. I found it really helpful to wet wash clothes and freeze them in rings, she loved chewing on those. Also, I would agree with the others to take her to the vet about the diarrhea issue.

Whatever is ailing your Ellie Mae I hope she recovers quickly from it. She reminds me a little of Snoopy.

Good luck! Can you give him baby tylenol or hylands teething tablets? No, well that's what I use for my kiddos...dogs, I'm not so sure!
