Annapolis Was Like a Dream

Who knew there was this little, quaint, classy and all things preppy town right smack dab in the middle of Maryland? Not me! I wish I could say I'm all things pink and green, but that would be a lie. On the other hand, I grew up in the 90's where I was all thing penny loafers, button down Polo's and head bands, so prep runs in my veins... When Jamie and I got out of our cars on the brick paved street in down town Annapolis, I thought I'd finally been reunited with my long lost preppy family. I was in heaven.

I won't bore you with a zillion details, so here are some bullet points:

Friday:
  • First things first, we got pedicures and manicures in the most luxurious of salons... aahhh for girl weekends
  • We ate a quick lunch and headed to one of the largest malls I've ever been in... we shopped for about 4 hours, I got a small makeover and then headed down town
  • We walked around for quite a while just admiring the sailboats, Navy Cadets and preppy shops
  • We ate at a fantastic restaurant feasting on bread and exotic cheeses with fig spread, Mahi Mahi Salad and amazing wine
Who knows where the Maxi Dress is for the 5'4" girl? :)

Saturday:
  • Raining/54 degrees... ugh
  • Went to the. most. amazing. SBUX ever and had a glorious Venti Soy, No Foam Latte with a Cinnamon Scone -- heaven.
  • Went through almost every single store on three streets in the rain... thank God for umbrellas and a great pair of closed toed shoes that was on sale in the first store we went in
  • Ate at a Famous Annapolis Diner and had the most greasy Rubin I've ever tasted. Yum.
  • Bought a new hand bad, lip glosses, shoes, shot glass, some pottery, rain gauge for D and a few other odds and ends
  • Went back to the mall for a couple things, went to a whole foods store (Trader Joe's to be exact... best. grocery. store. ever.) and bought more bread, cheeses, salami, fruit and desert and went back to the hotel and had a picnic on the bed whilst we watched "Marley and Me" (thanks for the warning, btw, that it ended so CRAPPY!)

Sunday:
  • Breakfast down by the water and said our goodbyes...
So fantastic to see a life-long friend and just be able to get our shopping on -- She is one of my only friends who doesn't have a baby and has gone through the grueling school process to attain her career and we really connect on those levels... Love you, Jamie!

NOT ME MONDAY!

This blog is inspired by My Charming Kids --
Thanks, McMamma, for sharing your heart with us every day and in every way

I did not skip a post this week because I'm deep in thought about how much my relationship with Dan has changed (for the good) in one year and can't figure out how to write about it in a light and funny way... nope! Not me!

I did not decide to write this blog at 10:00 p.m. Monday evening because I've been at a conference A.L.L. F.R.E.A.K.I.N.G. D.A.Y. -- And I definitely was not tired from being awake since six... nope! Not me!

I did not spend hours crying over a new book I'm reading (whilst my husband continues to be confused as to why I would submit myself to such pain [if they only understood ladies]) because it is not effecting my heart in ways I can barely begin to express... nope! Not me!

I did not buy an entire summer wardrobe worth $867 for a mere $49 at Belk (only store in town, ladies) and my husband did not ask to see the receipts so I could prove my total savvy money saving adventure -- and I did not stay on a high from this for like four days... nope! Not me! (seriously, this is a true story :)

I did not get the most adorable lampshade from my sister-in-law for my desk lamp and I did not forget to post about it on her blog (sorry, Tory! Will do that soon)... nope! Not me!

I did not receive this award today from Me! and I was not totally blown away by her genuine and kind words and I'm not totally thankful... nope! Not me! (THANK YOU!!)
I did not work 4 hours on Sunday prepping High School students for their SAT and I did not totally forget what I was talking about in the middle of it all because I was not thinking about my super savings at Belk... nope! Not me!

Lastly......... I'm not staying at the beach in the OBX for a conference on the subject of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault for four days because that is not my job and I do not have amazing views out every window and I am not inspired by the amazing photography I get to take and I do not miss my amazing, handsome and sweet husband... nope! Not me!

(McMamma... This WAS fun!)
