Featured Friday: Indefinitely Definite

To date, this has been one of my worst weeks in the last 5 years. All I can say is thank you for your "virtual" hugs and love – They were received and I felt them from my head to my toes...

With this… none of you need to hear my boo hooing – So, I’m going to post about my most loved blog this week and try and work through my Reader List {I’ve MISSED Y’ALL!!!
}

Without further ado… This blogger has truly touched my heart on more than one occasion. With her love for people from all walks of life, I’ve learned a thing or two about seeing the world a little bit differently. I love anyone who challenges my mind to think creatively and continue to be positive in the midst of a lot of stress.

I followed her through her journey of becoming healthier in body and she is as beautiful as can be. She has a deep love for her family and her new wife and I always look forward to hearing about what they've been up to. I enjoy her uplifting posts and reading about all the fun she has with concerts, girls nights out and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

If you EVER need inspiration, a good cry because your heart's been touched or a smile on a bad day... please visit:

Featured Friday: Weekly Blog Love

Short. Sweet. and to the point. I've got a busy day...

I am going to continue my Weekly Blog Love simply because I love doing it and a lot of you said you love finding new and interesting bloggers --

I have been following this incredible blogger for about 8 months or so... Her heart is so incredibly warm, sincere, sensitive and vulnerable. She has a story that is heart felt and honest. She is not only physically beautiful and a model, but she exudes beauty from the inside. She has a love for music, which you'll see displayed on her blog weekly and concerts are definitely a favorite past time for her.

With all this, she lives a life that not many people live and this part of her life is what she blogs about. Her stories from this exotic journey are intriguing, funny and addictive. While we've never spoken outside of our comments on each others blogs {which we rarely miss a-one}, I feel like I know her.

She is...

Thank you for your inspiring story and
always keeping me coming back for more!!!

Featured Friday: Who Doesn't Love Her?

This girl has been one of my favorites from the time she started blogging seeing as she started after me -- This post of hers is when her blog caught my attention and we've communicated back and forth ever since --

I don't even know if Blogger had the "Follow Me" app. at the time, but she's always had a great amount of response to her posts -- I know that once "Follow Me" was up, it didn't take long for her box to hit 100, 200, 300... um... 1,000 followers!!! This says something about a person.

Her blog is usually full of funnies... laughing at herself, her husband, her preppy pug and in the mean time, entertaining us all -- I've enjoyed getting to know a more personal side of who she is through email chats, but she's also shared some of her most vulnerable struggles with us through her posts --

The most beautiful part about this blogger/woman is that she has a canny ability to take the worst of life's blows and find the opportunities in them and that alone draws me back to her blog on a daily basis --

Recently, her husband did an "Ask Me Anything" Q & A and some of his answers only solidified that his wife is not only an incredibly down to earth, meet you where your at, love you at your worst kind of woman, but also full of integrity, strength and generosity --

Yes... I'm going on and on, but I tend to do that when there really is someone who makes me laugh or cry on a daily basis and this is that person:

My Weekly Blog Love????

Mrs. Newlywed over at MisAdventures of a Newlywed

Thanks for being such an inspiration to not only me,
but to, well... clearly over a 1,000 people!

OK... in other news!

I mentioned I had to take off my "Blog Roll" because it was slowing down my page! This is what I've decided to do... I'm going to add my "Weekly Blog Loves" to the side and every week, I'll drop the bottom one and add that week's blog love to the top!

Stay tuned...
Not Me Monday is going to be a HOOT!

Featured Foto Friday and Blog Love

Saskia and I have been "Blog Friends" for a while... chatting back and forth, commenting when we can, enjoying each others' lives from across the ocean... She does live in London, after all -- I was totally siked when she asked me to Feature her Esty Store. Totally.

My love for travel drew me to Saskia's Blog. She is so explicit in sharing her incredible adventures with her husband all over London and a myriad of other intriguing traveling escapades. Coupled with this, she doesn't just tell her story, she shares her story through her fabulous photography. Dabbling in photography myself, I'm always in amazement of her artistic ability to capture the 'mood' of a moment, the history of an area, or the beauty of a scene within the creativity of her shots. Her pictures make me smile and I love anything that makes me smile.

When she recently told me that all her photos are taken in film and by her 1973 Minolta SRT-303 my mouth hit the floor. Incredible. Seeing as she lives in London, she is a London based photographer. To my absolute delight, she has now chosen to share her gift with us through her Etsy Shop she opened this past month. Right now, she has a few of her favorite pictures up for sale. She offers not only various sized prints, but also wonderful canvases and she is ready and waiting to fill custom orders for whoever is interested.
With no surprise, Saskia is off to Venice next week and without a doubt, she'll be glued to her camera. This undoubtedly means more fabulousness for us!

Saskia Photography

Saskia is my Weekly Blog Love -- After writing all that, I said to myself How could she NOT be my blog love... not only is she an amazing photographer, but I LOVE her blog!!!

She's spunky, she's cute, she's preppy and she's totally from my home town! We discovered each other a few months ago and she lives in the same city I lived in for nearly 10 years! I connect with her on a "Yankee" level -- I've enjoyed talking with her about the area and not surprisingly, we a lot of the same favorite past times! She has a tremendous amount of honesty in her posts and isn't afraid to make herself vulnerable to her readers -- She shares from the smallest to the greatest fabulous ideas, sales, giveaways and local entertainment in her area! Featured Friday: Guest Blogger and Blog Love

I had a friend of mine IRL, Miss Bliss, that blogs with her husband, Mr. Wonderful -- I've known them both since, well... I was born -- She graciously asked if I wanted a guest blogger because I've been going crazy so darn busy! Of course I said yes! She's a professor at the University of Miami, a writer and a Newlywed! As women... I'm sure we can all relate to this post! Enjoy!!

Hi, lovely girls,
This post comes to you from Miami Beach, Florida, my on and off home. Reflecting on what I worried about or dreamed about at different ages lead to the following age summaries:

Age 0-10: try to be good so you don’t get in trouble, who are these strange people who are staying at my house? Why are the church people so good at happy faces there but so mean at home? Swim with friend one day and feel the best day of my childhood. At age ten, I go with my pregnant-with-twins- but-thinks-it’s- one- baby-mom and my five-year-old sister to the airport. My mom has our birth certificates and report cards in her purse. We have our favorite dolls. We fly one-way under assumed names from Philadelphia to Cincinnati and I experience culture shock in my own country.

Age 11-13: food stamps and WIC and United Way and private education loans and grants and my grandmother helped sustain my (now) three! sisters and my mom and I; my mom was now the sole source of income and provider for us all… she went to an intensive 2 year program to be able to work a job with the highest salary and quickest graduation to be able to support us. Madonna and Michael Jackson are just entering the scene and breakdancing is big and girls just wanna have fun. Help raise my sisters.

14-18: Mom rebounds. Marries older man. From Russia. This is how I start ninth grade. Ninth grade is hard enough for anyone. I had a new stepdad who is 20 years older than my mom, who I am helping learn English vocabulary. I enter a new school. Again. This one is nicer and richer than my previous school. The kids have known each other since birth. I wish I had nicer clothes. I wish I were prettier. The weekend before tenth grade starts, I have one new shirt from the mall in my nearly empty closet. My visiting step-sister’s luggage does not arrive, and she wears it first. Tenth grade: mom leaves the guy. Change high schools. Change right back. 11th and 12th grade: the teachers and guidance counselors at this amazing high school prepare me to apply to college and ace my SATs. (at least the verbal!) I fall in love with a guy who my mom thinks is the wrong color. I secretly see him anyway, and we never do what she was so worried about.

Age 18-23: Mom remarries again right before I start college. My shit is in garage of their new house before she drops me off at my college dorm room. I never have my own room at their new house, where my sisters and mom and her new husband now live. I never have anywhere to put my clothes when I come visit, either. My college professors suggest things to me like, “when you work on your Master’s degree, and you could do your Ph.D…” concepts I’ve never heard of… Leave college in the middle of a semester one day with my best friend and we drive her Miata from Cincinnati to DC, and move in with her parents. Return to school when I am ready. Spend a lot of time feeling very sad, and looking for love and mistakenly thinking sex creates and guarantees love.

Age 24-33: Apply to grad schools if they have an ocean nearby. Move to Miami for school, knowing nothing about Miami and never having been there until deciding to go to school there. Succeed on paper, in resume format. Date the wrong guy—a walking temper. Waste a lot of time breaking up with him and giving him “one more chance.” Finally understand it is nice to have a weekend off work without fighting the whole time. Knowing nothing about financial management, proceed to screw my finances up completely. Begin Ph.D. Leave that program and then teach at University of Miami. Head to work and laugh that I am in charge of a college course. Spend some years here locked in anxiety and one day while teaching at UM, realize I am free to enjoy the rest of my life. Teach at a high school for two years and wonder how in the hell high school teachers survive their administrations and boards of education and some parents. The students were great. Return to teaching college. Begin deciding to dream and create and enjoy every day of my life. I do wonder why my family does not call each other to ask: how was your day? And really really listen, just to ask and to listen. The idea of sisters who talk on the phone daily always appeals to me. Even briefly--- but—life is busy, I know. It’s busy and then over.

Age 33-35: Have stupid crush on guy at work. Later realize I only had a crush on him and thought he was funny because I was that sad when that feeling started. Realized he is not that funny. When I feel better, I marry the love of my life, the boy I swam with on the best day of my childhood. Live in Boulder, CO and cry for six months straight because I am so well loved and it is better than I could have dreamed. Move back to Miami Beach, with him, to return to job teaching at UM, and for him to go back to school. Our future is starting now, with the ocean swirling right next to us

THANK YOU, MISS BLISS!!!

Now... for my Weekly Blog Love!!!

She is new on the blog scene {well, at least to me} and she lives in Germany! She's a hairstylist, to which I could reply "You had me at hairstylist" -- I have a secret obsession with creative people, but let's keep that to ourselves -- Oh. I'm back. I just got a little carried away there. -- She is really well traveled and it's SO fun hearing about her adventures through Foreign countries! She's down to earth, sincere with every word in her commenting, SO FREAKING CREATIVE! and is all around inspiring!

She's Steph! From The Adventures of Jon and Steph! Thanks for all your sweet and sincere comments and being a great "blog friend" -- Let me know when you travel back to the states so you can do my hair and we can chat about photography :)

Once all the adoptions are final, the ducks will be randomly numbered on May 15th -- The Lucky Duck Derby is scheduled at the opening of the Albemarle Potato Festival on Saturday, May16th -- There will be over 5,000 "adopted" ducks launched into Charles Creek and large crowds of people will line the waterfront area to cheer on their adopted ducks. The first duck to cross the finish line will win a $5,000 cash prize. Additional prizes will also be awarded.

Click HERE and then follow the directions below to adopt a duck :

The work of Albemarle Hopeline is to provide services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in a six-county area. For twenty-seven years, Hopeline has offered a comprehensive quality service component to victims at no cost through resources from federal, state and local funds. Featured Friday: Bloggy Love

It seems Fridays are becoming all about BLOG LOVES! That's OK with me... but I'd love to show off your business, so email {newlywedcentral@gmail.com} me and I'll do a Featured Friday on you!

For now.... My Weekly Blog Love!

Katie over at A Hokie and a Wahoo

First and foremost, she lives in one of my favorite cities in America! Philadelphia!! Secondly, she's incredibly down to earth and a hoot! She loves her family, her husband and her posts are always full of life to either cheer me up or make me think. Katie is in the Event Planning industry and so her sense of fashion is really fun :)
She is a Hokie and proud of it! Virginia Tech {let's keep them in our hearts this week... 2nd anniversary of the shooting massacre was on the 16th} was her school of choice after seeing the campus only once! She has recently shared some of her experiences there and only made me understand and feel more connected to her. Her husband, however, is a Wahoo, which is University of Virgina {VT's rival!} -- It makes me smile to read about the 'fun' rivalry going on in their home and yet, I love even more reading about their sincere love and care for each other...

So... here's to you, Katie! Have a great weekend everyone!

TRUE STORY

Jennifer and Jim kept getting huge water bills. They knew beyond a doubtthat the bills weren't representative of their actual usage, and no matterhow they tried to conserve, the high bills continue. Although they could seenothing wrong, they had everything checked for leaks or problems; first thewater meter, then outdoor pipes, indoor pipes, underground pipes, faucets, toilets, washer, ice maker, etc., all to no avail. One day Jim was sick and stayed home in bed, but kept hearing water runningdownstairs. He finally tore himself from his sick bed & went toinvestigate, and stumbled onto the cause of such high water bills.Apparently this was happening all day long when they were not at home.Knowing that few would believe him he taped a segment of the "problem" for posterity.

Now you can open the attachment & watch the video.
